So fall is officially here and how we love new beginnings. This is the time of the year when we can start over — we leave the sweet summer days for crispy air, new nuances in the trees and more sober colors.
This September we will be cooking long dinners with our families, visiting museums, drinking cappuccinos, dining in the city, going on forest walks, doing long skin care rituals and catching up with our beloved friends that we haven't spent enough time with this summer.
Lissy
Staying cozy in the beginning of autumn — I opt for a shift in energy from my colorful summer wardrobe. For me it's all about layering and I need good quality fabrics for it.
In my everyday life, when I spend the most time in my car driving between kindergarten and home I go for a comfy chic ensemble of leather pants or Levi's 501, a khaki t-shirt, a cashmere sweater if it's chilly — paired with my Toteme army jacket and naturally, my Celine sunglasses, my Alma nano and a leather loafer — or my old Celine boat shoes from the Phoebe Philo era.
Skin ritual
Something else I do this fall is to take care of myself and to feel my absolute best is obviously to look after my skin. I'm very high maintenance when it comes to skin care and make up and I rarely wear ingredients that are harmful, toxic or endocrine disruptive.
If you follow us on insta or if you bought The Routine , you might know by now that your own blood flow is the absolute best skin care ingredient.
Healthy, glowing skin isn't just about what you put on the surface. It's about what's happening underneath. Good blood and lymph flow make all the difference in how your skin looks and feels.
Most skincare products don't reach deep enough to fix what's really going on—because the issue often isn't the skin itself, but what lies beneath: tight muscles, stuck fascia, unbalanced fat pads, and stagnant lymph.
To truly support your skin, you need to look at it as part of a whole system—one where circulation, structure, and flow all work together.
Face Tape — A Gentle Lift With Major Impact
Another fantastic and natural ritual I practice a few nights per week is face taping.
Face taping works by subtly lifting the skin — creating space beneath the surface. And in that space, something beautiful happens: better blood flow, smoother lymphatic drainage, and a softness returning to areas that felt heavy or stagnant.
But the benefits go deeper than that. Taping also helps limit the overuse of facial muscles — the unconscious expressions we repeat daily, like furrowing the brow or clenching the jaw. These mimic patterns become so habitual that we often don't notice them, even as they begin to etch themselves into our skin. Face taping brings mindfulness to those micro-movements. It gently guides the muscles to relax, retraining the face to move with more intention — and less tension.
When paired with facial massage, self-sculpting techniques and manual correction, taping becomes part of a deeper ritual — one that supports circulation and redefines the natural contours of your face.
Why I Always Travel With My Red Light Mask
Red light therapy has been one of the most supportive tools in my own skin routine—both at home and when I'm away. It's one of those rare things that delivers visible results without any pain or downtime. A few sessions a week is all it takes.
Personally, I use the LED mask from Dermapen. It's light, compact, and easy to bring along when I travel. Ten minutes in a hotel room and I've treated my skin to clinically proven red and near-infrared light that supports collagen production, helps fade sun damage, reduces fine lines, and even supports the deeper layers of tissue.
But what I love most is that it goes beyond the skin. Red light therapy has been shown to boost cellular energy, aid muscle recovery, and ease joint discomfort. It's not just about beauty—it's about well-being on a cellular level. I've found it to be one of the most effortless ways to support both.
